Siren

Siren was a ritual performance with collaborators and roommates Ále Campos (aka Celeste) and Spacey Lacey at Roots and Culture in Chicago. Costumed as mermaids with a shared tail, Celeste tattooed Bun's chest live in the gallery with a cloverleaf symbol derived from Lacey's paintings. Bun trained an augmented reality program to seek the finished symbol, activating when the tattoo was complete to release a a poem projected over their body, using the tattoo as a cut from which unsayable words could release. The text told parallel stories of a sailor seeking a dangerous salmon-mermaid lover and a goldfish emotionally adapting to being cherished by a new family.
